The deadline for entries is 24 March. More details on the open call are on the art charity website yeovilartspace.uk/storyofyeovil
Inspired by the South Somerset Heritage Collection which has over 6000 photographs reflecting the heritage of Yeovil, this open call will help to create a new archive of photographs made in and about Yeovil.
Yeovil Art Space tell us:
“We are looking for people to send us photos that tell their story of Yeovil, maybe street views and buildings, maybe parks and rural life. What do you want to share? We are also interested in seeing photographs that might represent different cultures, communities, beliefs and backgrounds. It doesn't have to be a 'picture postcard', but gives an essence of what Yeovil means to you. We know this open call will result in a really exciting collection and make an interesting and inspiring show to visit.”
The View of Yeovil exhibitions will open 31 May until 8 July at Yeovil Art Space and various locations around the town centre.
The Story of Yeovil project explores Yeovil’s heritage and social history through the voice of local communities, gathering stories from diverse perspectives through a series of creative activities and sharing them through three main themes: View of Yeovil, Sound of Yeovil and Taste of Yeovil. More information about the project can be found at yeovilartspace.uk/storyofyeovil and any queries can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org *Photographs can also be emailed to email@example.com
